Update for ya’ll. We have moved to an undisclosed location way out in the sticks. We have a beautiful creek running through our back yard and an enormous house. I found this little critter scuttling about on our sidewalk.

I am also starting in on the S10/VW project. For those not in-the-know, I’m putting a 1.6TD VW engine into this S10 using a Toyota transmission. I’m doing it up with a 5-link air suspension system and will eventually restore the interior. Exact plans are being hashed out as I type.

I’m getting into this WVO thing for the ol’ diesel Quantum pretty heavy like. I can process oil like nobody’s business now. Information on building this type of system is readily available online. I used a power steering pump from some crappy car in the U-pull-it, a Harbor Freight motor, and a Dieselcraft Centrifuge. Inline heater totalling 4500w running on 220vac gets things cooking. Next post will be of the car, I built my own heated 34 gallon fuel tank.

Here’s the new ‘ped as promised. It’s a repainted 1978 Honda Hobbit PA50II. So far I haven’t had much time to play around but I did manage to put together a triple Cree Q5 headlight complete with 14.8V Li-Ion rechargeable battery (see bike light post elsewhere on this site). Sure is damn bright. I fixed both front and rear variators and did routine stuff like fix the sticky throttle grip and align body parts. Next step is to hotrod this baby with bigger cylinder, bigger carb, exhaust, etc. Should be fun, I’ve always liked mopeds.
EDIT: Since we moved out to the middle of nowhere-ville, this moped will probably be up for sale.

Finally got it licensed/titled! We’ve been sleeping in it a few days a week because it’s so COMFY! Memory foam is pretty cool. Still haven’t got the propane installed so I need to get on it before it gets cold out. I also installed a blower fan under the bed that intakes from under the trailer. Makes good ventilation by positive pressure. We are getting much closer to solar panels as our group-buy finally went through. I sold the Syncro this week so I need to build a new towing rig. TDI Fox wagon here we go!

So the Syncro had its engine out a few weekends ago for a new clutch and some A/C fixin. She’s top notch and a PULLING MACHINE. Makes the TD look like a Yugo… We took the trailer to Oregon Country Fair and on the way down (her maiden voyage!) I was cruising a parking lot in Eugene and a woman backs out right into the pass. fender ripping it off (see 4th pic below)! Good thing it’s made tough. Cost me $27 to fix. That’s one way of christening a new rig! Taking hot showers and sleeping in the A/C was a treat for our 4 day stay. Memory foam mattress is really soft and comfy, like we were camping in our bedroom! Still gotta install the propane system but that’s easy. Thinking about selling this trailer to build another one! Any takers?
